About the role#
The Student CEO leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role offers undergraduate students ownership of a business while developing leadership skills in team management, community engagement, and financial oversight. You will gain real-world entrepreneurial experience through the Experiential Learning Platform.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a team of peers through recruiting, training, and coaching to create a positive work environment.
- Establish the cafe as a community hub through hospitality, partnerships, and initiatives that reflect Saxbys values.
- Manage cafe profitability by tracking sales growth, labor costs, and inventory while maintaining product quality.
- Act as the face of Saxbys on campus by communicating the mission and platform to guests and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the operations team on strategic initiatives and implement feedback to improve cafe performance.
What you'll need#
- You must be an undergraduate student at Saint Joseph's University in good academic standing.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 lbs, and navigate the cafe environment.
