About the role#
The Student CEO (SCEO) leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role provides undergraduate students with ownership of a business while developing leadership skills in team management, community engagement, and financial operations. You will manage a single cafe location while reporting to an Operations Lead.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a team of peers by recruiting, training, and coaching staff.
- Manage sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and overall operational efficiency.
- Establish the cafe as a community cornerstone through hospitality and local partnerships.
- Serve as the face of Saxbys on campus and communicate the company mission to stakeholders.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives and provide regular performance updates.
- Generate social media content and execute local marketing campaigns.
- Assist in identifying and developing talent for cafe positions.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Commitment to supporting and promoting Saxbys Mission and Core Values.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 35 lbs, as well as use ladders or stairs.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience and background in customer service or retail are preferred.
