About the role#
The Student CEO leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role offers undergraduate students ownership of a business while developing leadership skills in team management, community engagement, and financial oversight. You will serve as the face of the brand on campus and work to drive both profitability and a positive guest experience.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a team of peers by recruiting, training, and coaching staff.
- Manage cafe profitability, including sales growth, labor costs, and inventory.
- Maintain high standards for product quality and guest service.
- Collaborate with the Operations Lead on strategic initiatives.
- Generate social media content and execute local marketing campaigns.
- Supervise a team of approximately 45 direct reports.
What you'll need#
- Must be an undergraduate student at the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Prior leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience is a plus.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders or stairs.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 35 lbs.
- Commitment to supporting and promoting the Saxbys mission and core values.
