About the role#
The Student CEO leads a Saxbys cafe operation. This position offers undergraduate students ownership of a business while building skills in team development, community engagement, and financial management. You will work on-site at the University of Mount Saint Vincent.
What you'll do#
- Lead all aspects of cafe operations.
- Build and manage a team of about 45 peers through recruiting, training, and coaching.
- Drive profitability by managing sales, labor costs, and inventory.
- Serve as the face of Saxbys on campus and build community partnerships.
- Collaborate with the Operations Lead on strategic initiatives.
- Create social media content and run local marketing campaigns.
- Assist in recruiting and developing talent for the cafe.
What you'll need#
- Must be an undergraduate student at the University of Mount Saint Vincent in good academic standing.
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Prior leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Ability to work 30 to 40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience and background in customer service or retail are preferred.
- Ability to support and promote Saxbys Mission and Core Values.
- Ability to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and climb ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 35 lbs.
