About the role#
The Student CEO (SCEO) leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role offers undergraduate students ownership of a business while developing skills in team management, community engagement, and financial oversight. You will report to the Operations Lead and manage a team of 35 to 45 peers.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a team of peers through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Drive cafe profitability by managing sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency.
- Establish the cafe as a community cornerstone through hospitality and local partnerships.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives and provide regular performance updates.
- Generate social media content and execute promotional campaigns to drive awareness and sales.
What you'll need#
- Must be an undergraduate student at the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Prior experience in a Saxbys cafe is preferred.
- Ability to work 30 to 40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 35 lbs.
