About the role#
The Student CEO (SCEO) position offers undergraduate students the chance to manage a Saxbys cafe through the company's Experiential Learning Platform. You will take ownership of business operations while developing skills in team leadership, financial management, and community engagement. This is a full-time, on-site role for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Lead all aspects of the cafe operation, including daily management and long-term planning.
- Build and manage a team of approximately 25 peers by recruiting, training, and coaching staff.
- Drive cafe profitability by monitoring sales growth, managing labor costs, and controlling inventory.
- Serve as the primary representative of Saxbys on campus and build partnerships within the community.
- Maintain high standards for product quality and guest experience.
- Collaborate with the Operations Lead on strategic initiatives and performance updates.
What you'll need#
- You must be an undergraduate student at Mount Saint Mary's University in good academic standing.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 35 lbs, and navigating ladders or stairs.
- Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or Economics are relevant to this role.
