About the role#
The Student CEO (SCEO) leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role offers undergraduate students ownership of a business while developing leadership skills in team management, community engagement, and financial oversight. You will serve as the face of the brand on campus and manage a team of approximately 15 peers.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a high-performing team through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage cafe profitability by overseeing sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency.
- Establish the cafe as a community cornerstone through hospitality and local partnerships.
- Represent the brand on campus to stakeholders, guests, and potential team members.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives and provide performance updates to the Operations Lead.
- Generate social media content and execute marketing initiatives to drive cafe awareness.
- Assist in identifying and developing talent for cafe positions and future succession planning.
What you'll need#
- You must be an undergraduate student of the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience, as well as experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail, is preferred.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods.
- Capability to stoop, kneel, and ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 35 lbs.
