About the role#
The Student CEO leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role provides undergraduate students with ownership of a business while developing skills in team development, community engagement, and financial management. You will serve as the face of Saxbys on campus and communicate the company mission to stakeholders and guests. ## What you'll do
- Build and lead a team of peers through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage approximately 55 direct reports.
- Drive cafe profitability by overseeing sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain high standards for product quality and guest experience.
- Establish the cafe as a community cornerstone through hospitality and local partnerships.
- Collaborate with the Operations Lead on strategic initiatives.
- Generate social media content and execute promotional campaigns.
- Identify and develop talent for cafe positions and future leadership succession.
What you'll need#
- Must be an undergraduate student of the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience is preferred.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Ability to support and exhibit the Saxbys Mission and Core Values.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 35 lbs.
