Student CEO (SCEO)

About the role#

The Student CEO (SCEO) leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role provides undergraduate students with ownership of a business, offering experience in team development, community engagement, and financial management through the Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform.

What you'll do#

• Build and lead a team of peers through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Establish the cafe as a community cornerstone through hospitality and partnerships.
• Drive profitability by managing sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency.
• Serve as the face of Saxbys on campus, communicating the company mission and values.
• Collaborate with the Operations Lead on strategic initiatives and provide performance updates.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
• Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
• Prior Saxbys cafe experience and background in customer service, hospitality, or retail are preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 35 lbs, and navigating ladders or stairs.
