About the role#
The Student CEO (SCEO) leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role provides undergraduate students with ownership of a business while developing leadership skills in team development, community engagement, and financial management. You will report to the Operations Lead while collaborating with marketing and recruiting teams to drive cafe performance.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a high-performing team of peers through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Establish the cafe as a community cornerstone through hospitality and meaningful partnerships.
- Manage sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency to drive profitability.
- Serve as the face of Saxbys on campus by communicating the company mission and values to stakeholders and guests.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives and provide regular updates on cafe performance.
- Supervise a team of approximately 45 direct reports.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Status as an undergraduate student of the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience and experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail are preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and navigating ladders or stairs.
