About the role#
The Student CEO leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role offers undergraduate students ownership of a business while developing skills in leadership, team management, and financial oversight. You will serve as the face of the brand on campus and work to make the cafe a cornerstone of the community.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a team of peers by recruiting, training, coaching, and managing performance.
- Supervise approximately 45 direct reports.
- Drive cafe profitability by managing sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Operations Lead on strategic initiatives.
- Create content for social media and execute local marketing campaigns.
- Assist in the identification and development of new talent.
- Establish the cafe as a community hub through hospitality and partnerships.
What you'll need#
- You must be an undergraduate student at the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience is preferred, as is experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Ability to support and promote Saxbys Mission and Core Values.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods, stoop, kneel, and ascend or descend ladders and stairs.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 35 lbs.
