About the role#
The Student CEO leads a Saxbys cafe operation. This role offers undergraduate students ownership of a business while developing leadership skills in team management, community engagement, and financial oversight. You will report to an Operations Lead.
What you'll do#
- Lead all aspects of cafe operations.
- Build and manage a high-performing team of peers by recruiting, training, and coaching staff.
- Drive profitability by managing sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain high standards for product quality and guest experience.
- Serve as the face of Saxbys on campus.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives and provide performance updates.
- Generate social media content and implement local marketing campaigns.
- Assist in identifying and developing talent for the cafe.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at the partner organization in good academic standing.
- Ability to work 30 to 40 hours per week.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Prior Saxbys cafe experience is preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 35 lbs.
