About the role#
We are looking for a Supply Chain Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on projects across procurement, planning, production scheduling, materials management, supplier quality, and logistics. You will partner with our engineering, operations, and quality teams to support the production of autonomous surface vessels.
What you'll do#
- Support cross-functional supply chain projects including procurement, planning, and commodity management.
- Assist buyers and planners with purchase order creation, expediting, and supplier follow-up.
- Build and maintain data trackers to monitor supplier performance, inventory levels, and material shortages.
- Align material availability with build plans and program timelines to support production scheduling.
- Track non-conformances, corrective action requests, and supplier scorecards for quality initiatives.
- Assist with supplier capacity assessments, onboarding, and documentation of supplier capabilities.
- Perform should-cost, market, and spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and manage transportation documentation.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and process improvement opportunities.
- Participate in meetings and present findings from your assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and work in changing environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on taking ownership of tasks.
- Interest in the defense, aerospace, maritime, or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with data visualization or ERP/MRP tools is a plus.
- Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in either Austin, Texas, or Franklin, Louisiana.
- This position requires U.S. Person status to access export-controlled information.
