    About the role#

    We are hiring an intern for our Grid business unit for the summer of 2027. You will join a project team to assist with engineering work on transmission and distribution projects. This role involves working under senior engineers to gain hands-on experience in power design and project management.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with the design of new projects, modifications, and upgrades.
    • Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design documents.
    • Track and evaluate project progress, data, and activities.
    • Help prepare documents for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and installation services.
    • Use modern tools and automation to solve engineering problems, improve workflows, and reduce rework.
    • Apply scripting or programming skills to automate calculations, design checks, and reporting.

    What you'll need#

    • Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
    • A strong academic background, with a minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to identify issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
    • Enrollment in an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is preferred.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience in campus or community settings.
    • Prior internship or co-op experience in the industry is a plus.
    • Coursework in geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power is valued.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Pasadena, California.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office.
    • Employment Type: Full-time internship.
    • Compensation: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour.
    • Note: We do not provide work authorization sponsorship for this position.
