About the role#
This summer 2027 internship places you within the Grid business unit. You will join a project team and assist senior engineers with the design of new, modified, or upgraded transmission and distribution projects. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on experience in the power engineering sector.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering calculations, specifications, and design documentation.
- Help prepare documents for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and installation services.
- Track and evaluate project progress, activities, and associated data.
- Use modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and create cost-effective designs.
- Solve engineering problems by building or using scripts to automate calculations and design checks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- A strong academic background with a minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to identify issues, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in this business area is valued.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in campus or community settings.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.

- Location: Reading, Pennsylvania.
- Modality: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office.
