About the role#
This internship is part of our Grid business unit for the summer of 2027. You will work on a project team alongside senior engineers to support the design of new transmission and distribution projects, as well as modifications and upgrades to existing infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and associated data.
- Prepare documents and specifications for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and installation services.
- Use modern tools and automation to solve engineering problems, improve workflows, and create design documentation.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as a proactive self-starter.
- Capability to identify issues, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Preference for candidates with a 3.0 GPA or higher, leadership experience, or prior internship experience in this field.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.

- Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
- Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
