About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern in the Nuclear Power Group, you will join a project team to support the design of new power plants and the modification of existing systems. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers to apply your academic background to real-world projects. We expect you to solve problems using modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and create efficient designs.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Review structural design drawings and vendor documentation.
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, and concrete members.
- Support the engineering team in the design of equipment foundations and piping supports.
- Use programming or scripting to automate calculations, data transformation, or reporting.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- Completed coursework in steel and concrete design.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in structural analysis, material behavior, and foundation design.

- This internship is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- The position is on-site and full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
- This is a paid position.
