About the role#
This internship is part of the Financial Analysis and Planning department. You will join the Consulting Business Group to gain experience in engineering and project financing within the energy sector. This position is a paid, full-time opportunity for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Consulting Business Group to expand your knowledge of engineering and project finance.
- Help prepare consulting proposals, technical presentations, marketing materials, and white papers.
- Support project teams with feasibility studies, power system planning, and due diligence for power generation projects.
- Track and evaluate project data and progress.
- Prepare technical reports and deliverables, such as financial models, asset transactions, and capital budgeting documents.
- Provide technical support to clients including utilities, investors, technology companies, and power project developers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
- Completed at least six semesters or equivalent quarters at an accredited university.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Relevant internship or co-op experience is a plus.
- Coursework in Finance or an M.B.A. program is preferred.
- Experience or coursework related to power systems, battery energy storage, renewable energy, or financial modeling in the power industry.

- This role is located in Chicago, Illinois.
- The position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring you to work in the office three days per week.
