About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 within the Grid business unit. You will work on-site at a construction project, supporting our team with the execution of electrical infrastructure tasks. This role involves direct field experience on projects related to transmission, substations, distribution, renewable energy, and battery storage systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist the construction management team with daily project execution.
- Help oversee utility construction projects to ensure they stay on track.
- Coordinate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
- Maintain project schedules and track ongoing progress.
- Monitor project activities and manage correspondence regarding grid infrastructure.
- Collaborate with electrical construction professionals on-site to gain practical experience.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science program in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as a proactive self-starter.
- Skills to identify issues, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership in campus or community activities.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, field-based role.
- You must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the construction site.
- You must be able to pass a motor vehicle report.
- We do not provide work authorization sponsorship for this position.
