About the role#
As an Associate Intern for Project Controls, you will join a project team to support the Project Controls and Scheduling Division. You will work alongside project management team members to help execute project tasks. This role is based in Chicago and is scheduled for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, and progress monitoring.
- Prepare project and portfolio reports for power-related engineering projects.
- Apply your academic knowledge to project controls and management methodologies.
- Engage with team members to identify and meet operational needs.
- Learn new skills to contribute to project team performance.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree, ideally in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or General Engineering.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically creating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases in MS Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Prior internship or work experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6, is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in campus or community settings is valued.
