About the role#
This summer internship focuses on the coordination of finished goods to customers and distribution centers. You will work with domestic and international service providers, customs brokers, and production facility staff. The goal is to improve service and reduce costs through effective logistics management.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate logistics across ocean, air, rail, intermodal, and truck transport.
- Monitor shipments from the initial booking through final delivery.
- Investigate logistics problems to find root causes and implement solutions.
- Assess current transportation processes and help develop standard operating procedures.
- Provide analytical support for projects and new business proposals.
- Assemble data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure transport capacity is available for production facilities and distribution centers.
- Monitor carrier compliance with existing contracts.
- Communicate logistics updates between service providers and internal sales teams.
- Evaluate shipping performance and publish regular reports.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and production planning concepts.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, spreadsheets, and statistics software.
- Understanding of transportation contracts and tariffs.
- Comfort communicating findings and recommendations to people at all levels of the organization.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in South Portland, Maine.
