About the role#
As an mRNA Co-op in Analytical Sciences, you will support process development and the characterization of mRNA vaccines. You will work within the mRNA Center of Excellence, focusing on laboratory activities that advance our vaccine research and development goals. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and program partners to ensure high-quality analytical results.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the selection and development of new biophysical methods for mRNA-based products.
- Perform analytical testing, data analysis, and document writing while maintaining a critical view of results.
- Qualify and transfer analytical methods as needed.
- Develop and author work plans and protocols.
- Present findings to internal teams and analytical program partners.
- Summarize and communicate work progress, including documenting results in reports and Electronic Laboratory Notebook entries.
- Participate in or lead analytical working groups and train others in specific technologies.
- Assist with laboratory organization, including equipment maintenance, reagent verification, and sample management.
- Support GMP and non-GMP lab setups, safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Perform GMP sample collection, analysis, and data verification.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program with a focus on Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, on-site in an analytical lab environment.
- Practical experience or knowledge of physicochemical, biophysical, and analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with analysis equipment control software.
- Experience with GMP environments and participation in analytical working groups.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the initiative to lead new tasks.
