Respiratory Intern

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time internship for students currently enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Therapy program. You will work within the scope of your knowledge to perform respiratory therapy duties while advancing your clinical skills. This position involves collaborating with medical staff and healthcare team members to support quality patient care, education, and discharge planning.

What you'll do#

• Perform all aspects of the respiratory therapist scope of practice, including cardiopulmonary care.
• Conduct diagnostic and metabolic testing.
• Execute patient assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
• Analyze and report on clinical responses.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, continuing education, and professional development.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a recognized Respiratory Therapy program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a state license.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
