About the role#
The Test Equipment & Maintenance Engineer Intern supports the reliability of our manufacturing test systems. This role involves working with quality assurance, design engineering, and production teams to troubleshoot electronic assemblies. You will report to the Manager of Test Equipment Engineering & Maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot electronics to the component level by reading schematics and datasheets.
- Investigate root causes for equipment issues and propose solutions.
- Perform mechanical assembly and wiring based on provided drawings.
- Configure replacement PCs for existing test systems.
- Implement upgrades or assist in the redesign of current test systems.
- Enter repair data and defect information into the asset management database.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university program for Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Intent to return to school full-time after the internship.
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory.
- Familiarity with lab test and measurement instrumentation.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to work independently in a service-oriented environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Franklin, Wisconsin.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: Part-time, 1st shift (8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday).
- Modality: On-site.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
