About the role#
This internship offers a chance to work with tax experts in a team setting. You will help identify tax savings for large clients and gain experience in state and local tax matters. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings for multi-state companies.
- Assist with tax controversies by preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare formal protests.
- Research and draft technical memoranda on tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum 2.8 overall and major GPA.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the practice area.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work both independently and with a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
