About the role#
As an intern in the Abandoned and Unclaimed Property Consulting group, you will work alongside subject matter experts to identify tax savings opportunities for large-scale clients. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to provide training and development for future tax professionals.
What you'll do#
- Help multi-state companies navigate tax controversies and identify savings.
- Prepare clients for auditor discussions and represent them at hearings or appeal meetings.
- Draft protests and technical memoranda regarding state and local tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- You expect to graduate within one year of the internship.
- You have a minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- You have completed 6 to 12 accounting hours.
- You possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web navigation.
- You can manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work well both independently and in a team.
- You have strong problem-solving and communication skills.

- This internship is based in Plano, Texas.
- The role is for the Summer 2027 term.
- This position follows a hybrid work model.
