About the role#
As a VDC Intern, you will work with our project teams to learn construction processes, company policies, and industry procedures. You will gain hands-on experience with job-site coordination, safety, scheduling, and quality control. This role is based in our Chicago office and is available for either a summer term or a spring co-op.
What you'll do#
- Support VDC Engineers and Managers with model management, field support, and design coordination.
- Develop and maintain site logistics and schedule sequencing models.
- Build virtual mockups in partnership with project VDC resources.
- Learn core VDC software, including Autodesk and Adobe products.
- Assist teams in creating pursuit materials and project exhibits.
- Gain a practical understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, BIM Management, or a related field.
- You are within 18 months of graduation.
- You can commit to 40 hours per week for at least three months.
- Experience in construction, architecture, engineering, or BIM-related work is preferred.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling, BIM, and construction scheduling is a plus.
- Ability to read architectural drawings, contracts, and specifications is helpful.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.

- Compensation: $20 to $25 per hour.
