About the role#
As a Scheduling Engineer Intern, you will work alongside an experienced scheduling team to gain hands-on experience across the lifecycle of active construction projects. You will learn how projects are planned from the macro level of strategy and milestones down to the micro level of daily field activities. This role provides exposure to CPM scheduling, industry-standard software, and the project controls used to monitor performance. Interns who excel in this position are considered strong candidates for future full-time roles.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply company scheduling standards, tools, and processes.
- Support project teams in creating, updating, and reviewing schedules during proposal and preconstruction stages.
- Assist with regular progress updates to keep project schedules accurate and current.
- Prepare monthly project schedule health reports to monitor performance.
- Participate in collaborative planning sessions with project teams, subcontractors, and owners to understand sequencing, manpower, and duration development.
- Observe peer review sessions on complex projects to see how schedules are stress-tested.
- Collect and organize project schedule data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Spend time on active construction sites to connect the schedule to field operations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in construction scheduling, planning, and project controls.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to split time between an office setting and active construction sites.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
- Verification of eligibility to work in the United States.
