About the role#
Ryan Companies is hiring a Safety Engineer Intern for our Atlanta site. This is a full-time summer internship running from May to August 2027. You will work on-site to assist the Safety Manager with the implementation of the Ryan Safety Program. This role involves working alongside Project Managers and Superintendents to address health and safety issues at the project level. You will spend roughly 70% to 80% of your time in the field and the remainder in the office.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Project Management team in establishing and implementing site safety programs.
- Conduct and document site-safety audits and inspections.
- Monitor subcontractor safety activities and review their submittals.
- Provide training to craft workers on safe work procedures.
- Develop a safety culture and build rapport with contractors and craftspeople.
- Promote employee participation and communicate safety information to all levels of personnel.
- Attend industry safety organization meetings.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, safety management, construction safety sciences, or related fields.
- Status within 6 months to 2 years of graduating with a four-year degree in a safety-related field.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the two to three-month term.
- Verification of eligibility to work in the United States.
