About the role#
This internship is a full-time position based in Phoenix, Arizona, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at a Ryan Companies project location from May through August. This role supports the Safety Manager and project teams in maintaining safety standards at the construction site. You will spend 70% to 80% of your time in the field and the remainder in an office setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project management team in establishing and implementing site safety programs.
- Conduct and document regular site safety audits and inspections.
- Provide training to craft workers regarding safe work procedures.
- Review and monitor the safety activities of subcontractors.
- Promote active employee participation in safety initiatives.
- Communicate with personnel at all levels to identify and implement safety improvements.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.
- Graduation within 6 months to 2 years.
- 3 to 5 years of field experience.
- 2 to 3 years of safety experience.
- A working understanding of OSHA regulations related to construction.
- Knowledge of workers’ compensation and claims management.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the internship term.
