About the role#
The Field Engineer Summer Intern is an entry-level position that supports the project team in the completion of a designated project. This role reports to the Superintendent, with indirect reporting to the Project Manager. The objective is to provide hands-on experience in field and office operations and demonstrate how these efforts relate to the physical construction of a project.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate shop drawings and establish coordination processes.
- Provide support to both office and field staff.
- Perform estimating and quantity take-offs.
- Purchase materials required to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain inventory of materials and equipment at the project site.
- Monitor project schedules and provide updates.
- Monitor assigned subcontracts, including subcontractor schedules relative to material deliveries and manpower.
- Assist in preparing billings and reviewing invoices.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors.
What you'll need#
- A 4-year college degree, preferably in a construction-related field such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to assume responsibility and work independently.
- Strong communication skills to interface effectively with the project team.
- Verification of eligibility to work in the United States.
