About the role#
As an IT Support Intern at Ruiz Foods, you will gain hands-on experience with help desk operations, desktop support, and business systems. You will work alongside our IT team to solve real technology challenges and see how systems keep an organization running. This role is for an undergraduate student who enjoys troubleshooting, learning new systems, and building practical skills for a future career in IT.
What you'll do#
- Document requests, gather details, assign work orders, and share updates to help users get timely solutions.
- Troubleshoot workstation, network, printer, ERP hardware, and software issues.
- Deploy hardware, install equipment, and set up workstations for users.
- Support the day-to-day performance and stability of corporate and production systems.
- Respond to operational issues to help the team meet service-level expectations.
- Gain experience with Microsoft Windows administration, including upgrades, patching, and tuning.
- Participate in planning and testing system and application upgrades.
- Collaborate with IT teammates, share learning, and escalate complex issues.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Ability to provide first-level service desk support for PCs, laptops, and ERP hardware.
- Experience entering work orders in an IT services ticketing system.
- Technical knowledge of iOS and Android devices.
- Ability to troubleshoot Windows environments, specifically Windows 11.
- Familiarity with Windows workstations and servers, basic networking concepts, and network troubleshooting.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office applications.
- Clear communication skills and a desire to help others.
- Strong organization, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a team while taking ownership of independent tasks.
