Summer 2027 Entrepreneurial Services Group Intern

About the role#

The Entrepreneurial Services Group at RubinBrown LLP partners with business owners to help improve and grow their enterprises. This role involves working with a diverse range of clients, applying broad knowledge of business, accounting, and tax issues to support emerging entrepreneurial businesses.

What you'll do#

• Apply general accounting procedures across a range of services provided by the Entrepreneurial Services Group.
• Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business engagements in accordance with firm standards.
• Review and format client documentation for financial statement and tax return preparation.
• Maintain client records, including general ledgers, on automated systems.
• Perform attest procedures, such as reviews and compilations of financial statements.
• Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
• Prepare payroll tax reports, filings, 1099s, and W-2 forms.
• Identify and communicate accounting and tax matters to engagement team members.
• Establish direct working relationships with clients and identify opportunities for performance improvement.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Actively working toward CPA certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Strong technical skills, including the ability to utilize technology effectively and a commitment to learning in a digital environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to meet challenging client requirements and provide quality service.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities with a team-oriented mindset.
