About the role#
The Entrepreneurial Services Group internship provides an introduction to the field of public accounting. Interns partner with business owners to assist in improving and growing their businesses by addressing a broad range of accounting, tax, and business issues.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures based on the services provided by the Entrepreneurial Services Group.
- Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business engagements.
- Review client documentation to prepare financial statements and tax returns.
- Maintain client records and files on automated systems, including general ledgers.
- Perform attest procedures such as reviews and compilations of financial statements.
- Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, filings, 1099 forms, and W-2 forms.
- Communicate accounting and tax matters to engagement team members and maintain direct communication with clients.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to utilize technology effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strict adherence to professional ethics.
