About the role#
This internship introduces students to the field of public accounting within the Entrepreneurial Services Group. You will work directly with business owners to support their growth and address various accounting and tax needs.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures to client engagements.
- Plan and carry out day-to-day activities for small business clients.
- Review client documentation to prepare financial statements.
- Maintain client records and ledgers on automated systems.
- Assist with income tax planning for small businesses and individuals.
- Prepare income tax returns, payroll tax reports, and W-2 or 1099 forms.
- Communicate accounting and tax matters to your team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong technical skills and a willingness to learn new software.
- Commitment to professional ethics.
