About the role#
This internship provides an introduction to the field of public accounting. Interns are treated as full-time team members and are paired with a Career Advocate to help establish personalized professional goals. The program includes an introductory orientation and training on firm technology, including accounting and tax networks. This is a paid, full-time position requiring a commitment of at least eight weeks.
What you'll do#
- Communicate directly with clients and staff.
- Perform audit testing and procedures on selected key engagement areas.
- Gain insight into the audit risk assessment and analysis process.
- Analyze internal controls.
- Gather and analyze industry and comparable company research using public documents.
- Prepare written reports covering company background, financial reviews, and industry outlooks.
- Create and maintain workpaper documentation for client engagements.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior academic standing.
- Completion of introductory accounting courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior completion of an Auditing or Tax course is preferred.
- Majors in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
