About the role#
As a Technology Risk Consulting Intern, you will work with businesses across industries such as manufacturing, real estate, financial services, and healthcare. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly with business owners and executive management. Each intern is assigned a performance advisor to assist with professional development throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Learn about client needs, industry standards, and internal accounting systems.
- Assist with the design and optimization of business process and IT controls.
- Use critical thinking to identify internal control deficiencies and evaluate their impact on the client.
- Create documentation to support client engagements.
- Engage with client leadership to discuss strategies for emerging technology risks.
- Participate in projects such as SOX compliance, SOC reporting, IT controls testing, and internal audits of security and ERP systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a B.A. or B.S. degree program at an accredited university.
- A major in Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a team.
- High standards of integrity and professionalism.
- Progress toward a CPA, CISA, or CIA certification is preferred but not required.

- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Travel: You may be required to travel to client sites, necessitating access to reliable transportation.
