About the role#
The Infrastructure Consulting Intern role provides hands-on experience and professional training for technology-minded individuals. You will work directly with client companies to install, implement, and support advanced systems and network infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support and troubleshoot workstations, servers, and network issues.
- Perform systems administration for Office 365, Windows Servers, and workstations across multiple client environments.
- Develop IT operations plans to maintain technology environments.
- Assist with implementations or upgrades involving vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, HP, VMware, Nimble, NetApp, or Meraki.
- Deploy collaboration tools, including VoIP telephony and video conferencing.
- Assist organizations in adopting modern workplace solutions.
- Migrate on-premise infrastructure to cloud workloads in Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Participate in client infrastructure assessments and IT audits.
- Provide technical support via phone and email to resolve end-user hardware or software issues.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a bachelor's or master's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or an IT-related concentration.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Knowledge of Apple and Windows-based hardware and software.
- Experience with Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure AD administration.
- Familiarity with firewalls, VMWare ESX hosts, vSphere, and remote solutions like Citrix, VPN, or Remote Desktop Services.
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- A passion for technology and a desire to learn.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Des Moines, Iowa.
- Work is on-site.
- Travel to client locations is required, up to 25 percent of the time.
- You must have access to reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
