About the role#
This is a paid internship for the fall 2026 semester. You will work on electrified powertrain development from the initial concept through to production. You will receive mentorship from team members while contributing to project work. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the development and validation of electrified powertrain controls for BEV, FCEV, and HEV applications.
- Help create requirements for controller software to meet project goals.
- Carry out development work on benches, dynamometers, and vehicles.
- Perform climate and altitude development testing.
- Assist with the calibration of powertrain functions, including diagnostics, safety, thermal systems, and high voltage integration.
- Analyze experimental data and present findings to the team.
- Work hands-on with electrical systems and components.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in mechanical, electrical, software, or automotive engineering.
- Minimum sophomore standing.
- Strong MS Excel skills and general proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and controls algorithms in MATLAB, Simulink, or C-based documentation.
- Experience with multimeters and hand tools for identifying electrical issues.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week during the fall 2026 semester.
