Roush is seeking an Electrified Powertrain Calibration Intern for the fall 2026 semester. This role involves supporting the development of electrified powertrains from concept through production, working directly with Battery Electric (BEV), Fuel Cell (FCEV), and Hybrid Electric (HEV) vehicle applications. You will be mentored by team members while contributing to project work in a hands-on environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the development and validation of electrified powertrain controls.
- Carry out bench, dynamometer, and vehicle-based electrified powertrain development.
- Support the validation and release of controls software.
- Perform climate and altitude development testing to meet customer objectives.
- Assist with the calibration of powertrain functions, including propulsive features, diagnostics, safety, thermal systems, and high-voltage integration.
- Analyze experimental data and present findings to the project team.
- Work hands-on with electrical systems and components.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, software, or automotive engineering.
- Minimum sophomore standing.
- Available for the full fall 2026 semester (40-hour work week).
- Strong MS Excel proficiency and general computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and controls algorithms (MATLAB, Simulink, or C-based documentation).
- Experience using a multimeter and hand tools for basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of powertrain system operating principles and controls.
