About the role#
Roush is seeking a Powertrain Calibration Engineering Intern to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work alongside engineers to calibrate, test, and integrate gasoline and diesel powertrain packages. This role involves both dynamometer and vehicle-based environments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with dynamometer and vehicle-based calibration and integration for Internal Combustion Engines.
- Support vehicle testing for drivability, emissions, and durability.
- Analyze, interpret, and present test data to the team.
- Support development testing in hot, cold, and high-altitude conditions.
- Assist in the development of test benches and control systems.
- Support the design and manufacturing of prototype wiring harnesses.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor or master degree in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering with at least sophomore standing.
- Available to work a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, during the January to May 2027 semester.
- Hands-on experience with internal combustion engines.
- Strong skills in Excel and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Ability to read and interpret programming languages such as C, MATLAB, and VBA.
- Valid driver license.
- Willingness to travel or work overtime if requested.
- Previous experience with engine dynamometer testing, CAN bus communication, or automotive competitions like Formula SAE or Baja is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
- Work locations include Allen Park and Livonia, Michigan.
- This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
