About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Advanced Engineering Department for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Livonia, Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Support design efforts using SolidWorks.
- Assist with build and assembly tasks.
- Diagnose technical problems and conduct root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with internal engineering groups and the fabrication shop.
- Support product development testing.
- Apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
- Work on unique projects that test your engineering skills.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering with at least freshman standing.
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week from January 2027 through May 2027.
- U.S. citizenship or status as a lawful permanent resident to meet ITAR compliance requirements.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- A strong interest in engineering system design, development, or manufacturing within the automotive industry.
- Hands-on experience with automotive or mechanical diagnosis and repair.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Catia.
- Familiarity with Formula SAE or Baja programs.
- Prior internship experience in an automotive environment is a plus.
- Interest in electric and autonomous vehicle technology.

- This role is located in Livonia, Michigan.
- This is an on-site position requiring 40 hours per week.
- The internship term runs from January 2027 to May 2027.
