About the role#
As a Test Engineering Intern at our Wallops Island, Virginia site, you will work with the flight operations crew. You will gain hands-on exposure to live test and launch operations. Your work will directly improve the tools and procedures that make these operations more efficient, repeatable, and safe. You will join the Test and Launch Operations team, which is responsible for launching Electron and Neutron vehicles and running related test campaigns.
What you'll do#
- Work closely with your mentor and other employees to apply your knowledge and grow your skills.
- Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges.
- Attend frequent 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors to discuss progress and learning.
- Participate in tech talks and network with other interns and employees through social and professional events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in an engineering or physics discipline.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, including internships, laboratory work, or personal projects.
- Ability to work full-time and on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks starting in January, February, or March 2027.
- The following qualifications are preferred: a GPA of 3.5 or above, 6+ months of applied engineering experience, experience with scripting or automation, proficiency in Python, 3D printing experience, and CAD/CAM experience, specifically with Siemens NX.

- Location: Wallops Island, Virginia.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
- Relocation assistance may be available via a stipend.
