Surgical Technologist Internship

About the role#

This 6-week paid internship is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program. The program provides hands-on experience in the PeriOperative department, offering 40 hours of work per week to supplement classroom education and assist in the transition to a professional career.

What you'll do#

Interns rotate through various clinical areas to gain practical experience in the following:

• Anesthesia support
• Surgical case preparation
• Sterile technique application
• Surgical scrub, including donning and doffing of sterile attire
• Handling and sterilization of surgical instruments

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Demonstrated understanding of aseptic techniques.
• Basic computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of patient care or operating room experience in an accredited hospital is preferred.
• Ability to perform medium work, including exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
