Patient Care Tech-RN Nursing Student

About the role#

This position offers nursing students the opportunity to gain bedside experience while working on a per diem basis. You will support the general management and organization of the patient care unit, contributing to the overall comfort of patients across various Rochester Regional Health facilities.

What you'll do#

• Provide direct and indirect patient care based on treatment plans delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Assist patients with nutritional needs, hygiene, elimination, and skin integrity.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs.
• Assist with the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked equipment and facilities.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
• Availability to work shifts during the school year, including a minimum of 48 hours per quarter.
• Commitment to working through Summer and Winter holiday periods.
• Flexibility to work day, evening, night, and holiday shifts as required by your assigned unit.
• Ability to perform medium work, including exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 10 to 25 pounds frequently, with consistent walking, standing, or squatting.

• Location: Rochester, New York (with opportunities at Rochester General Hospital, Unity Hospital, Newark Wayne Community Hospital, and Clifton Springs Hospital).
