Patient Care Tech - Nursing Student - Float Pool

About the role#

This position offers nursing students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by rotating through three different acute care units. Working on a per diem basis, you will support diverse patient populations and gain exposure to varying levels of clinical acuity under the direction of a licensed nurse. You must be available to complete work shifts during the school year and complete a clinical orientation of 8 to 9 shifts prior to picking up assignments.

What you'll do#

• Provide direct and indirect patient care while supporting established treatment plans.
• Rotate through three different acute care units to gain clinical experience.
• Maintain the organization and smooth operation of the patient care unit to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Work a minimum of 48 hours per quarter, including summer and winter holiday shifts as required by the unit.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment and matriculation in an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to perform medium work, including exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

• Location: Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, New York.
• Schedule: Day, evening, night, and holiday shifts available based on unit requirements.
• Employment Type: Per diem, on-site.
