About the role#
As a Software Developer Intern for our backend team, you will work directly on the systems that power our financial products. You will join an active team to design, build, and ship software that handles real-world scale. You will own a project from the initial scoping phase through to production launch. Throughout your internship, you will work alongside a dedicated mentor to navigate our tech stack and the financial domain.
What you'll do#
- Own a high-impact backend project from initial scoping through launch.
- Partner with a mentor to guide your work and technical development.
- Design, build, test, and release software solutions for our financial platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve critical technical problems.
- Maintain and scale existing codebases using tools like Python, Django, Go, and relational databases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time, degree-seeking program in Computer Science.
- An expected graduation date of Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and a deep understanding of coding practices.
- Prior software development experience from internships, hackathons, or personal projects.
- Familiarity with Python, Django, or Go.
- Understanding of relational databases and transactions.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to drive projects forward.
- A genuine interest in financial technology.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an expected hourly rate of $40 CAD.
