About the role#
The Software Engineer Support Intern role offers hands-on experience with enterprise-grade production print software. You will work alongside senior engineers to diagnose, analyze, and document issues within high-performance print workflow systems. This position provides exposure to real customer environments, helping you understand how enterprise-scale software behaves in production and how support teams investigate complex issues across distributed systems.
What you'll do#
- Diagnose, analyze, and document issues within mission-critical print workflow systems.
- Gather diagnostic data and assist with issue triage.
- Contribute to clear, well-structured documentation for customers and engineering teams.
- Utilize AI-assisted troubleshooting tools and perform data analysis and log correlation.
- Develop automation and scripts for support operations.
- Support containerized deployments and cloud-hosted environments.
- Manage customer escalations and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate on special projects and work closely with your manager to address functional issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a focus on complex technical issues.
- Clear, disciplined documentation skills and effective technical communication.
- Hands-on server administration experience in Linux and Windows (strongly preferred) or AIX.
- A curiosity to learn and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and workflows.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP and routing basics.
- Experience or interest in datastream and log analysis.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Exposure to virtualization or container technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Docker.
- Ability to successfully complete all required screenings prior to hire.
