About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on projects within a collaborative Agile environment. You will receive support from a technical mentor and experienced engineers to help you build your professional and technical skills. The internship includes project work, interaction with management, and a final presentation to the executive team. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Work with your mentor and department staff to solve real technical challenges.
- Develop, test, debug, and improve software components and applications.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Determine and evaluate software alternatives.
- Recommend solutions to project issues.
- Design, document, and demonstrate your work.
- Present a project summary to the executive team at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Experience with object-oriented programming and a firm grasp of data structures and algorithms.
- Proficiency in one or more languages including Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, or HTML.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell, Windows batch, or Shell.
- Linux command line experience.
- Understanding of containerization and sandboxing tools like Docker or Podman.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and AI development frameworks such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and prototyping skills.
- Ability to pass all required screenings prior to hire.
