About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at our York, Pennsylvania facility, you will support either our Production Engineering or Maintenance & Reliability Engineering teams. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside engineers, operations leaders, and maintenance professionals on projects that impact plant performance, safety, and quality.
What you'll do#
- Assist with process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
- Support root cause analysis for production challenges.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and process documentation.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
- Perform equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and reliability studies.
- Analyze maintenance performance data and key reliability metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance and asset effectiveness.
- Prepare reports and presentations based on project findings.
- Promote a strong safety culture and follow all environmental and health requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student status in good academic standing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Previous internship, co-op, laboratory, or project experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, reliability principles, CAD software, or data analysis tools is a plus.
