About the role#
We are hiring Manufacturing Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 program. You will work on-site in East Canton, Ohio, supporting either our Production Engineering or Maintenance and Reliability Engineering teams. This is a paid, full-time position where you will work alongside experienced engineers and plant leadership to solve real business challenges. You will gain hands-on experience in a heavy manufacturing environment and contribute to projects that impact safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Collect and analyze production or maintenance data to identify trends and bottlenecks.
- Assist with root cause investigations for production issues or equipment failures.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
- Update work instructions, process maps, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with capital projects from the planning phase through implementation.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve plant performance.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
- Assist with equipment inspections and troubleshooting efforts.
- Prepare reports and presentations based on your project findings and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Preference for students entering their Junior or Senior year in Fall 2027.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Previous internship, co-op, research, or manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, CAD software, or data analysis tools is a plus.
