About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics is developing electromagnetic self-assembling tiles to build modular spacecraft. This internship focuses on flight software and ground operations for our assembly systems. You will work on-site in Golden, Colorado, during the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Write and test flight software for our onboard compute platform.
- Build tools for ground station operations, including telemetry visualization and command sequencing.
- Develop communication protocols for units that maintain connectivity while the assembly changes shape or membership.
- Create simulation environments to test new logic before hardware deployment.
- Collaborate with the electrical team to debug issues spanning software and hardware boundaries.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Understanding of networking and distributed systems concepts.
- Experience with embedded Linux or bare-metal firmware.
- Familiarity with embedded toolchains, frameworks, real-time operating systems, or embedded communication buses.
- Hands-on experience with robotics, drones, or satellite projects.
- Compliance with ITAR requirements (must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
