Relman Colfax PLLC offers a two-year Civil Rights Fellowship for recent law school graduates. This role provides direct exposure to civil rights litigation and counseling work, focusing on cases involving discrimination in housing, lending, employment, public accommodations, education, and police accountability. Fellows work on both individual and class action lawsuits, as well as regulatory and policy strategy for progressive institutions and nonprofits.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing to support litigation and counseling matters.
- Perform factual investigations and interview witnesses and potential clients.
- Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, affidavits, motions, and briefs.
- Participate in discovery, including conducting and defending depositions.
- Engage in client calls and meetings.
What you'll need#
- A J.D. degree required by the end of Spring 2027.
- Admission to the bar or scheduled to take a bar examination by the summer of 2027.
- A demonstrated commitment to public interest law, civil rights, or racial justice.
- Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Salary: Compensation is based on an attorney salary scale starting at $80,000 for those 0 years out of law school, with increases based on years since graduation.
